Lunar Series: New Moon in Leo

It’s that time again. Time to start anew; time for fresh starts and new beginnings. A rebirth, so to speak. This is the point in time to set your intentions for the following lunar cycle or even the long term. Being a new moon, this means both the sun and the moon are in the same sign. And this time, the New Moon falls in the sign of Leo.

Leo is a charismatic sign that has no issue reveling in the spotlight. In fact, they prefer it.

What Does It Mean?

Leo is a fire sign, and with this, it brings forth the passion and creativity that this sign is known for.

Leo’s are showstoppers.

They have no issue being bold and taking up their space. So, if you veer on the side of introverted or even shy, this could be a time where you don’t mind taking in some of the spotlights you might ordinarily shy away from. This makes this a good time to focus on creative ventures and how to take up your own space.

Leo’s are a sign of both creativity and leadership. If you have any creative pursuits you’ve kept tucked away in your back pocket, now is the time to bring them to the forefront. Leo’s are a sign of energy, and their modality is fixed — which means this energy is abundant and it has the grit to see it through.

Don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself during this time. It’s okay to be your own biggest fan! You have to cheer for yourself first, then the rest will follow.

The New Moon in Leo invites us to envision our futures without limitations. It invites us to explore our passions and step outside of our comfort zones.

What Does It Mean for My Practice?

Due to the nature of the Leo, this influence makes for a particularly powerful time for manifestation. This extra vote of confidence raises your vibration, and you’re able to align more easily with your goals without the added weight of some lingering self-doubt.

Also, with the fire aspect, this makes it a particularly good time for candle magic and doubly so if the intent is career-focused or creativity-focused.

If you need inspiration, be sure to check out our Instagram for our videos on creating your own Creativity Spell Jar or our “Getting Shit Done” candle magic tutorial. (And don’t forget to stay tuned for our soon-to-be in-stock Creativity Spell Candles that are hand poured by us.)

With energies high, this makes this transit a great time for most magic, as the fundamentals of all magic are based on the energy that lies within us relating to the energies outside of us and influencing our desires through the processes of manipulating these to our will.

Feel free to charge your crystals and moon water to harvest some of this creative, courageous energy for spellwork involving the like as well as career-focused and self-confidence work.
